El trading de Forex consiste en el intercambio de una divisa por otra en el mercado cambiario global, el mercado financiero más grande y con mayor liquidez del mundo.

¿Qué es el trading de Forex?

Conceptos básicos
Forex, abreviatura de divisas, se refiere al mercado donde se compran y venden divisas. Es un mercado descentralizado extrabursátil (OTC), lo que significa que no existe una única bolsa física. En cambio, las transacciones se realizan electrónicamente entre bancos, instituciones, gobiernos y personas de todo el mundo.

Al cambiar dinero para viajar, comprar bienes con precios en otra divisa o realizar negocios internacionales, participa indirectamente en el mercado de divisas.

Cómo funciona
- Pares de divisas: El trading de Forex siempre involucra dos divisas, como el EUR/USD (euro frente a dólar estadounidense). Se compra una y se vende la otra. - Movimientos de precios: Los tipos de cambio fluctúan según la oferta y la demanda, los datos económicos, los tipos de interés y los acontecimientos geopolíticos.
- Liquidez: Con billones de dólares negociados diariamente, el mercado forex es el más líquido del mundo.

Contexto histórico
- Orígenes en el siglo XVII: El cambio de divisas se remonta a los mercados de Ámsterdam, donde los comerciantes intercambiaban dinero inglés y holandés.
