The popularity of Airbnb

Airbnb services have become very popular in recent years and they are a very popular way for people to rent to earn passive income streams.

If you own your own property, you may want to consider researching local laws and regulations and the relevant tax system, and you may consider taking advantage of listing the apartment or house you own on the Airbnb Services App.

While the company recently announced its IPO, Airbnb's initial public offering (IPO) was a much-anticipated event by investors. It was initially planned to start in early 2020. But after the Covid-19 crisis, which caused a significant drop in its revenue, the American company decided to postpone this measure.

Airbnb took the opportunity to file an official IPO application with the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) on November 16, 2020.

Airbnb's revenue depends mainly on seasonality, which naturally reflects tourist activity. They vary by different criteria, such as school holidays, depending on the country and the time. North America, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) accounted for 41% and 40% of revenue, respectively.

According to its initial public offering (IPO) filing, Airbnb has seen significant revenue growth over the past five years between 2015 and 2019.

In the first nine months of 2020, its revenue was down $1.2 million compared to the same period in 2019, a drop of more than 30%.

Despite revenue growth and pre-Covid-19 fundraising, Airbnb lost some money before the IPO.

Like any high-growth company, Airbnb needs to invest capital to maintain its edge over its competitors.

Airbnb Revenue:

        2015: $900 million
        2016: $1.7 billion.
        2017: $2.6 billion
        2018: $3.6 billion
        2019: $4.7 billion

Airbnb's IPO isn't set to pay dividends anytime soon in light of its growth model.
